I don't think any of the 15 founding clubs will get relegated (meaning disqualified from the ESL) no matter how poorly they fare.

I think the board would join once that thing gets underway. Bayern likes to break principles in order to keep up with the rest. However 50+1 means the club is fan owned, so its difficult for them to push that.

So if there is no relegation and the money received from the ESL is guaranteed and the payout is pretty much equal between all 15 founding clubs, and if they get banned from their respective domestic leagues, I guess in theory these clubs could just buy some third-tier players on tiny wages and play them day in day out without having to worry about anything. The winner of the ESL might receive a few millions more than the one that finishes 15th place but so what?

This sounds like a great way for the Kronkes, the Glazers etc. to make a shit amount of profit.

This obviously isn't the long term plan. Can't have a team 100% guaranteed a spot through founder status. If they say teams will qualify, one must assume they will provide a mechanism for relegation. Makes no sense otherwise

It is the football NBA.
I won't be surprised if it changed to same 20 teams all the time sooner or later.
