European Super League

It should be considered suspicious that Juve withdraw from the Super League whilst receiving a punishment for an unrelated matter from UEFA.

Possibly some kind of exchange under the table.

Possibly? It is clear arrangement.
Same with their settlement with court in Italy.
Juve new board is simply doing damage control

It is a lost cause, what is even the point to keep holding the fort at this point? Just to keep antagonizing UEFA so they can dish out harsher punishments against us?

Their new board is having other ideas possibly.

In any case, Barca could officially leave as a tactical move, but never abandon the project, which will be the future of the sport.
The war against a parasitic gang of bureaucrats will be hard and difficult

Sounding like a broke record but sell the idea to the Saudi. UEFA and FIFA will probably support it.

Have it as a post season final four or 8 in SA for big bucks.

Now they are pumping into their own league they can include a team from there.

The concept is dead right now in Europe.

ESL has lost the public support, so it has lost the political battle i.e governments
This was a fatal mistake, because they became enemy of governments and a way for politicians to gain points.
FIFA wanted the ESL, but they will never go against governments.
UEFA has no reason to surrender control over competitions, which is the main thing. To remove the middle man.
It has no future under the current leaders, and this includes both Laporta and Perez. It will be almost impossible to happen with same faces still there

Laporta and Perez are both fierce competitors, so they won't let go even when it is the right decision.

Juve used to get all the refereeing decisions before they attached themselves to this, now, along with Barca, they are on the receiving end of some of the worst.

As soon as the EPL clubs left the project, they seemed to get every 50/50 call in the Champions League but you will never hear about it.

Maybe Laporta is going to use it as a bargaining chip if things go south with Negreiga.

Rumours the Saudi want to invite European teams not qualified to the CL to play in their Super League.

That Barcelona and Juventus would be asked if UEFA ban them from the CL which has UEFA trembling.

Called something similar.

I am all in. Another way for us to make up some lost revenue from UEFA, especially if we get banned for a year.

We could potentially make more.

Considering they were willing to pay Messi 400m a season, that figure for a whole club would be cheap for them.

I don't think there is an issue with logistics nor rules. There are already existing examples of clubs from different countries being invited to another countries league, and FIFA allowed it.

The only issue would be UEFA, but they may have checkmated themselves with the threat of expelling Barcelona.

There's talk of Chelsea being invited too btw.
