Both defences were poor tonight, but that made for a thrilling game, certainly this early in the season.I thoroughly enjoyed it and I don't think we have many issues to deal with really.

The obvious problem is playing Mathieu at LB, he's a liability there.He got drawn into the CB position and left his marker for their 2nd goal, then a similar thing happened with the pen.That 2nd goal was obviously still playing on his mind, so he panicked and made a poor decision.

Kudos to Sevilla for making it a cracking game though.

Messi n Suarez look up for it, get Neymar back and I recon they will create carnage.

Mention in Dispatches for Pedro, well chuffed he got the winner and good luck in the future.

I would chalk up the comeback by Sevilla as one of those things...but this defence cannot perform like this for the rest of the season or we will win nothing. Sad that Pedro wants to go because he wants to have more starts but the question is will he get more starts at his "destination" club? (rumoured to me Man U) i doubt it. I think that the four strikers (including Pedro) just needs to be rotated properly..there is more than enough football....and what if one or two of MSN gets injured or happens to be out.

Mind blowing game. Felt like time was standing still at times. We still scored a manita but let in 4 wow. Just really happy for Leo after copa let down to score a sweet double and his shot caused the winner. He needed this trophy mentally.

I would take an old fashioned bruiser like Gary Cahill over our cbs. Playing the ball out of defence is of no use if you can't defend in the first place!

Mathieu was playing LB so your argument is a bit invalid. As a CB Mathieu holds up well.

He's a solid CB, but at LB he's a worry against decent teams.

He's actually decent on offense as a LB. His crosses are better than Albas imo. That one to Suarez today was def onside. The problem with him defensively as LB is he plays as a CB which obviously can't happen. 2nd Sevilla goal is a perfect example of that.

I also have an issue with something Lucho does dating back to last year. He tries to go defensive to kill games by putting in Bartra or another CB and moving Masche to the midfield. I think barca should just keep playing their way. Keep possession or at least players who are more comfortable on the ball. When we go defensive, we are just inviting pressure and that has been or never going to be our strength. We aren't chelsea ffs.

What a team Sevilla have become. I can see them causing plenty of upsets in the Champions League this season.

So we have or had four replica trophies from this competition, and now we get a original copy, but still not the UEFA Super Cup trophy the players lifted on the pitch in Tbilisi. Or what? I thought it would be like the Champions League where you just take home the trophy from the pitch and not a "original copy", when you've won it five times.
And how much difference is there then from the full size replica to the original copy.
