Think some teams have maybe underestimated him.

PSG really wanted him but Monaco opposed the transfer.
Before that, he was doing lip service to MU and they doubted his quality and didn't buy him.
Finally, Monaco explained that the transfer to Liverpool went very fast and smoothly.

He didn't have that many suitors which is odd.

Most teams that wanted him saw him as a right back but he didn't want to play there.

Playing well in that Monaco side was no guarantee for player to succeed at bigger clubs, with Bakayoko being an example of this.

Plus, his talent hasn't always been obvious. He played for Castilla for a year and nothing happened of it.

Fabinho is now at least a top 2 defensive midfielder in Europe. So fucking good now. We were absolutely begging for a new DM in 2017 with a rotting Busquets and we barely made any attempts to sign one. It's genuinely saddening.

Lutece was being made fun of but he was right on Fabinho being worth the 50m~, and right for disagreeing with people basically calling Fabinho a "just another Paulinho." Lmao
