I think that is a nuclear option that the club will want to avoid at all cost. Basically, we are paying wages of those players but we can't play them in any competition, it will make those players very disgruntled and makes us look like pathetic fools. Inviting lawsuits me thinks.

Firstly players to register are the ones who already had a contract last year and his contract continue. Not Messi.
Secondly, new players Messi included.

Was introduced a few years ago, and ironically lobbyed by Barca, Real Madrid and other clubs because we didn't want to bail out smaller clubs that were going bankrupt or having troubles because they did spend more than they had

To me this all started with Neymar leaving for PSG. Squandered the 222m and made one misstep after another after that and got us to where we are today.

Not saying Bartomeu didn't do anything shady before and after (of course he did, like Barcagate etc.) but Neymar was the catalyst of our financial downfall.

This is not even about us going bankrupt, it is about how much we can spend our money, even if we had it. Having a reasonable wage bill limit is good for everyone, the problem is La Liga's demand is not reasonable at all at this point, borderline lunatic.

We are not going bankrupt by any means, it is just La Liga is making our lives very hard right now to even start the next season normally.
