Fair enough, I randomly look at old LaLiga tables and notice things like these where we had more wins than the winning team but still somehow losing the league

Forgot to post this earlier, on this day or yesterday depending where you live, FC Barcelona had one of it’s many famous European nights, 25 years ago, completing a comeback from 3-1 down against Chelsea in the quarter final first leg to win 5-1 in the Camp Nou.
On the same day, Messi scored one of the greatest goals in the history of this sport, a Maradona esque goal against Getafe that will always be remembered by the commentator saying Ankara Messi, 18 years ago.

That one was a tragedy but it was not as bad as the others. In the other 5 we were the favourites to win and/or reach the next stage. In 8-2, we weren't the favourites and it was obvious we were gonna lose but not by that margin. Defeat was more helpful than harmful compared to the others.

The heroes of Paris conquered Europe 19 years ago.
This was the message to Europe that Barcelona was truly back. Not to participate but to conquer. This was Barcelona’s first European Cup since 1992.
Truly the start of something special for this club, starting a golden era in Europe which continued until 2015. Where Barcelona won 4 European Cups in 10 years.
Kudos to the people who watched this live. I for one watched this game replayed and man it would’ve been insanely stressful at the time.

Man, I watched this game replayed. We didn’t even look that shambolic before the goal. After they scored though, we collapsed and ate 4. Afterwards Cruyff lost the plot and we didn’t really recover until 12 years later.

I found the Standard Liege - Barça 1961 match. You just have to select the decade and specific year. You find the season and you press the 4 pointed bottom to see all the matches under the number of matches section of said year/season
