but there are generally two schools of thoughts for assists, one include rebounds, one doesn't.

I'm inclined to side with the latter, but I can see the logic of the former. I mean if Messi doesn't shoot then Pedro doesn't score. but it wasn't a pass.

Its a grey area...
In some cases the former doesn't make sense, eg. when a simple pass is followed by a splendid run for the goal, and in some cases the latter doesn't make sense, when someone fires a pointless CR-like shot that a keeper spills for example...

I think the majority go with the former though

how does it count when CR takes a free kick and hits the wall, then one of his team mates fires in a scorcher?

messi fires a shot and it's too hot to handle for the keeper, pedro comes and cleans it up, that definitely does count.

I believe that rebounds should not count as assists, but since they do, Leo will take it.

I am a bit bitter though that we have concede after such a great defensive run.
