Poor Barca performance this 2nd half.

Dont look a well coached side by Belleti either.

Three midgets the width of the park apart up top. Get nowhere near enough players in and around the box.

Pedro Rodriguez and Tomas Marquez decent in midfield that is about it.

Marquez been probably most impressive. Good height, fairly athletic and moved ball well.

Pedro Rodriguez playing at the highest level imo but didn't really put his mark on the game.

Tomas Marquez definitely looks interesting as well like JamDav says.

Juan Hernandez pretty nice with the ball but lacking edge. Virgili sort of the inverse.

Landry looked pretty good.

Yeah Tomas Marquez looked good but doesnt seem to be too highly rated within club.

Those taller players can develop later though.

Yeah Landry was decent stepping out from back.

7 of the 11 results so far in the round of 32 have ended in penalties.

Let's see how the remaining 5 games go which are being played now.

Suggests at this level that they may have to change the format to include extra time.

Tomas Marques today as discussed.

Never heard of him being rated but stood out when came on today.

Decent game and that height/mobility goes a long way to stand out at Barca.

Moves the ball forward very quickly.

Why do they have to hire former players with 0 or no experience as well? I mean I know they are president's puppets for the media but still.

Beletti? He has worked as assistant manager for Cruzeiro, U20 manager for Sau Paolo, Juvenil A assistant in Barca, Barca Atletic assistant, before getting Juvenil A manager job.

It isn't a bad CV for U-19 manager. Many of those are usually inexperienced with some exceptions.

Real do that too, Raul, Guti, Alonso, Zidane, Solari etc. Atletico did it with Fernando Torres.

It is good for young players to see a coach who is a true professional who was there at the biggest stage as a player, good for the club as it shows players that we take care of them after retirement, give clubs glimpses of who could be the real deal future manager (Pep & Zidane are prime examples) and generally they are supported by experienced assistants and rarely interacts with prospects for long.

I concede there is experience but compared to professional youth coaches it's not much.

My son is training at a lower division team. There are 3/4 coaches. Can only imagine how many in Barca youth teams. Think it's best to stay in house and promote. Or look at some outstanding youth coaches from other teams.

There was another big lad in midfield who left the academy in the summer and looked decent. Would have rather he stayed.

I'll search his name and edit it in here, as I thought he had some potential.

About Marques, liked him everytime I seen him this season. They got that player in B from Deportivo who is always playing and is a bit similar. So there's a route for his profile.

EDIT

Cristo Munoz. Went to Lazio and is in their u20. Seems a good season statistically.

Another thing is knowing the club. Could bring a good coach from Chelsea, Bayern, Sevilla or Villarreal but they don't know philosophy and would need to adapt themselves first.

And as with players coaches will also try to move on at some point. I think U10 or U12 coaches are more likely to stay around and be happy in that role (I think they also got promoted occasionally so they stay with the same generation of players though even at these lower levels there is quite a big turnover in squads every season) but coaches in the upper tier of academy (maybe above Cadete A or Juvenil B) will probably have at least some ambitions to prove themselves in senior football some day so they might leave to take a job in Spanish lower divisions or abroad in that case.

From what I seen Belletti is far from a traditional Barcelona coach stylistically.

Villarreal would be a good place to poach. They set up their academy in the image of ours and coaching drills are technical based and very similar.

Wouldn't be hard for them to adapt at all.
