Well, at such an early age it's probably more about bringing the best talent into La Masia that we can, to develop them further. The academy itself tries to bring in the best talent all the time, and the players we have aren't always the best ones in an age group.

This tweet seems too negative to me.
I don't think we need Barça C. Players that are too old for Juvenil and not good enough for Barça B are very unlikely to make it here anyway so why keep them around? If there are 3 or 4 players that we don't count on next season but think they could have longterm potential and want to keep them just loan them out to other La Liga or Segunda teams like we did so far. But if we do create Barça C does it really have to be this week?
It's undestandable they didn't negotiate Gerard's contract during playoffs. And if Gabri is planned as his possible successor in case Gerard won't continue then it's also logical they didn't renew his contract as Juvenil A coach yet. But I believe they already had some talks with both and they will stay.
Players whose contract expires this week will be let gone and club has made that decision weeks or months ago. If they want to keep some of them like Gumbau they can still negotiate even when their contracts expires. Those players were free to talk with other clubs for the last 6 months anyway so in the end it's their decision whether they want to stay or not if club will offer them renewal. Don't think we'd really miss anyone of them though.
And for players who are still under contract but we don't count on we still have 2 months of transfer window to sell/loan them or rescind their contracts.

Yes, Gerard has renewed his contract for one season.
Amor and Bakero's job will be mostly dealing with players contract negotiations, promoting and signing new players for both Juvenil teams and Barça B,...
