messi and torres can certainly play together because of torres' much better mobility then Ibra

I'm not sure if Torres and Messi can play together well since I've never seen them play together, but what's certain is that Messi and Ibra cannot play together...does anyone notice how when Messi performs, Ibra doesn't, and vice versa? Someone suggested that that's because when one gets marked out, they create space for the other...that might be true, but last season, there were so many games where both Eto'o and Messi had great games...it just seems to me that Messi and Ibra can't complement each other, for whatever reason

At the start of the season they were playing well together. What happened inbetween there and now no one can answer. I think maybe part of it was Ibra's fall in form and Messi's rise to greatness and Messi's ego grew. You can see that Messi tries to do things by himself much more often and doesn't look for the finishing pass. Many times you see Xavi passing the ball to Messi and making a run for a give-and-go but it never materializes. That was one of our deadliest weapons last season and this season has taken the backseat to Messi's drives

Sorry for that post.... it shouldn't be here... I'll find a better place for it

i don't know guys
but i dont think that they were that good before new year, just a few times...
but it was good as it showed promise..now there is nothing at all!

IMO Torres would've been a better option even at a higher price considering his age, his marketability our need for a target man. But it seems that Pep favors more dynamic strikers as was witnessed with the Eto-Ibra swap. In hindsight, I guess it could make more sense. Villa may be 3 years older than Torres we already have a player in the mold of Torres with K9 who seems to be edging more towards his true potential & Villa's dynamism could prove to be much more devastating even if he doesn't perfectly fit in as a target man. Honestly I think he deserves to play for a great club and the recognition that comes with it given his past performances & hopefully his future ones as well.

If this Villa transfer is indeed true, we won't be seeing Torres I guess, unless Ibra leaves, which is very unlikely...but idk, maybe Man City or Chelsea will make a bid for him

Yeah imagine if we got lucky and got both Villa and Torres... then the debate would be over about who is better for us :)

Unless of course one of them got vastly more playing time than the other, then there would be a new debate

I would get wet underpants imagining Torres in a Barça shirt. :)With Benitez probably leaving, no Champions League for the Liverpudlians and they need some funds. Chance of getting him? :)

Well if speculation is true, Benitez leaving to Juventus, he may just lure Torres with him, but then why would Torres leave a non champions league club for another. Barca seems to be the only place..
