I dont know I kind of find the deal okay. Only problem is that the balotelli money is still not used. My original take on Milan is that they should sell balotelli and sign etoo instead which is close to what happened except it turned out to be torress, and then use etoo/pazzini as strikers who would be more than enough for serie a. Then splash the whole budget on a midfielder like Isco or so because it is the midfield that will need to work, and end up something like this

-----------Etoo
Shaarawy--------Menez
------------Isco-------
DeJong----------Montolivo
---------Backline-----------

would have been good and all milan would have needed would be to splash the balotelli money added to some 10 million to get isco and you would have a really good team that could compete for scudetto. It seems Galliani is distrubuting the budget though on many players. Lets see what he will do.

I expect they'll push for a wantaway striker in January, we all know Berlusconi loves his strikers, but there are a few available. But it's clear to me, the only plan all summer long with all the meetings & whatnot, was to be rid of Balotelli, with no real backup plan esp. as it happened so later in the window.

What's the difference? He will still play for Milan. For 2 years...

Because it's zero cost, it's a loan. If he flops whatever, if he does reasonable then happy days. I don't like Torres & i think he is done, but a loan is fine to me.

First its a loan deal ..milan payed nothing to get him and convinced him to take half of what he earned at chelsea ( probably even less). Its only two year so milan wont get stuck with him if he sucked. Also he is an upgrade over balotelli in my opinion because the play wont be centered around him and instead torress would try to work in the box instead of wander outside 99% of the time. Milan need strikers in the box. Of course torress has bad reputation of missing goals but that is what you get for free. I think that the most important thing is to fix the delivery in the midfield. Honda is not enough, there needs to be some talented players there. If that happens, torress will perform well.

Torres at San Siro.

Milan just being Milan. What the fuck were they thinking?

Sometimes when I'm frustrated at the board and the decisions this club makes, it's sometimes nice to know that I can look at AC Milan and especially Berlusconi, and remember that it could be worse.

Anyway, good luck to Torres. I feel a bit sorry for him, with all the stick he's been getting. However, I don't see him succeeding and Milan really need to be investing in some smart buys right now from the Balotelli sale

So when's this guy retiring? He's sucking at Milan big time. I guess when his contract is up, there's no way he'll retire when earning that much money while being horrible. There's nothing he can contribute to any half decent team, he doesn't even look interested in football any more. He's won practically everything he can, other than a league title, he can retire happy and rich.

Liverpool should get him back in Januray. He can't do a worse job than Balotelli there. It might work out after all. His career started to go downhill ever since he left Liverpool.
