You know what really sickens me the most about the whole FIFA?
When they say that they are not responsible for the mortalities of the workers on the construction sites and the conditions of the countries they grant their WCs to.
Yeah, we get it, it wasnt you who killed these workers, and you werent the guys deciding the conditions under which they work.
Constructions are going on since 2010, Roundabout 1.200 workers have lost their lifes so far in order to build the stadiums and hotels that have been requested. Statistics estimate 4.000 to die in the whole process of building these stadiums, so we still have around 2.800 lifes to go.
Now Imagine you are the leader of the FIFA, the biggest football federation worldwide and you have the possiblity to take the decision wether this World Cup can still be cancelled or not. If you decided to cancel it, then this wouldnt revive the lifes of 1.200 already dead workers and it wouldnt help their families to get over it, they would still want to see you death. But by doing this you can still prevent 2.800 future worker-deaths if you simply say "i cancel it" now. It would mean that you admit to have commited a mistake, it would even mean that you wouldnt be elected next time, but it would stop a genocide.
Try to answer the following question not as a politician, not as an anti- or pro-America/FIFA guy, simply try to answer it as a human being;
If you were that guy in charge, to decide wether you cancel it now or continue instead, would you say yes or no?
THAT is responsibility.
