They dealt with Ronaldo so easily that it was laughable. They won't have a problem with Messi either. If he's lucky enough to get past them there is still Neuer to beat. Messi never scores on Neuer. Argentina won't win this, not a chance.

Well, there's a chance, but you're right- without Di Maria, pressuring Germany's high line, I think Germany will contain Messi. Lavezzi has some pace, but not as tricky a threat as Di Maria.

Doesn't mean scoring is going to be easy at the other end. Most likely a header from a set piece.

As predicted Germany is greatly overestimated. People need to understand that the 7-1 against Brazil was because Brazil sucked, not because Germany played good in any way. Holland could've got very similar result. Germany's robot-football is destructive to football. Had almost no legal chances so far.

Are you having a laugh? Argentina are squeezing their buttcheeks hard and waiting for the counter in a deep 4-4-2 block with 30 % possession. Fair enough, if they go forward they will get destroyed so they are playing to their strengths. But the hypocrisy on a Barca forum. This could just as well be a Barca vs. Chelsea game.

possession means nothing if your not creating chances. i never supported barca's tiki-taka policy. germany is greatly overestimated and first half proves it so far. argentina have had many more chances than germany. but not bitch sabella took lavezzi out. what is he thinking!!

What do you mean overerstimated? No one who has clue expected a blowout in a World Cup final based on the Brazil meltdown. Even less so against such a disciplined Argentina side. Argentina still had 0 shots on target, the most dangerous situation came from an individual Kroos brainfart. It's not as if they are running riot.

I recommend you re-watch Barça-Chelsea games then.

Why would I need to do that? If we ignore Di Matteo's side which was riding its luck this could be 2009 Hiddink's Chelsea vs. Barca. That Barca's combinations were a bit better with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta instead of Klose, Schürrle and Müller doesn't change the overall tactical schemes of the teams. This is one of the most defensive Argentina sides you'll ever see.

But they had the best chances tonight? Also, in the second half the Argentines seemed totally in control.
