Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

Improvin' Perfection!!
I knew Tito would want to bring in a CF... But didn't guess Llorente would be the one he would be considering, that guy is surely going to be very costly

I know it's still a rumor, but it is believable. He brought the best out of Henry in 09/10 by bringing him on and playing as a central striker(against Valencia when Pep was suspended and Tito managed the match). Master stroke it turned out that night!!

I dont want Alba. We do need another left back and cb. We also need another striker. Keita, Pedro, Affellay & Adriano will be offloaded.

Ofcourse we are offloading few players this season. be sure of that...i am hoping we dont get another heart attack...
I don't know about changes but maybe Tito might decide to keep the same squad for a year just to have the continuity of Pep and then decide next year who should leave and who should be bought.Hope i am wrong.

if we sell villa, i'm going home

I'm pretty sure Villa will stay with us,Tito and Pep both count on him, I presume Affelay may leave us...plus Keita if some good offers arrive as there were rumors about both.
I really can't stand a season like this if it is to end with Villa leaving us as well... I'll go hunt Rosell down and sell him to some brazilian strip club for peanuts after I hit him with a bowling ball.

Offloading Villa after he broke his leg would be a bitch move. Same goes for Afellay. And in Villa's case it wouldn't even make any sense. He's the best centre forward in the world and a prolific goalscorer who knows our system very well and is extremely versatile. Why would we sell him? He's exactly what we needed the whole season. Look at him. Broke his leg in December and played with an injury prior and has still 9 goals this season. Our second best goalscorer this season has only 6 more than Villa and Villa hasn't played for 4 months. Fss.

Tito will be a more pragmatic coach then Pep. I think he will concentrate more on results first and fantasy later. History is against him but I thought Pep would be a flop and see how he turned out.

I think Tito will be more scrappy and abrasive then Pep. I think he wont put up with any shit from Mourinho & RM.

His problem is Cesc and Sanchez. Both have done ok in their first season but they still havent got a definite role or identity within the team.

TWO defenders are an absolute priority.

“Barca has a different [football] philosophy to which other coaches refer to. Coaches are not the most important choice, those are the players, as they are the ones that play, that win and lose. But, the coach does need to see football in the same way [as the players]. Because of this Tito Vilanova, if he wants to try, could be an excellent solution for the bench of FC Barcelona.” Johan Cruyff

This is one of the reasons certain clubs end up firing several coaches over a span of two or three years. If the players don't match the coaches ideas the results are bound to be bad in the first couple of months, resulting into pressure and not the game the coach wants to see. You simply can't change a squad overnight, clubs will either search a coach that does match the squad or give the coach the trust for a long term solution.

I never understood why certain clubs hire a coach only to fire him the next couple of months. Both club and coach should know what they are embarking on before they both agree on a deal, the ideas and squad should first and foremost match, if not, then the club should be prepared to undergo an massive change in the squad to match the coaches preferences.
