Gonna get hammered. But I don't really care. It's a friendly.

And shame on people who prefer to stand by former Barcelona employees when their allegiance should be with Barcelona and Barcelona only.
I don't like Rosell, but he's the current president and the one working overtime for it until 2016. Culès shouldn't prefer or 'hail' another team's coach who's a direct opponent in the CL.

I really like Vilanova, he really is the last person I would expect to be a sly motherfucker or a puppet.
I wish him good luck for the next season and that's what everyone should do instead of waiting for his demise so they can say ' TOLD YOU SO'. Pitiful.

Amen to that!

Why is all this talk our concern ??? I think some of us are getting carried away with this story and forgetting that its the press who've been the main ones in continuing, pushing and stirring hype around this petty subject. Who cares if Pep never carried Roses, chocolate and a teddy bear to Tito when he was in hospital. It's none of my damn business. This whole issue has been blown to epic proportions by the media who of course would like nothing best but to sensationalize this seemingly "love affair gone bad" and many of you are buying into it and getting all emotional and sweaty for nothing. The press ask the questions during the media conferences, to solicit certain responses to suit themselves, and then write all the spicy articles which of course we read in Sport, Mundo Deportivo and so on. I think we need to forget Pep and focus pm the upcoming season, transfers etc.

This is true but we can't underestimate the influence Rosell has on certain media. I honestly don't care either by the way. I think most people are just butthurt that Pep took Thiago and that it was Bayern that kicked us out of the CL last season. It'll be better in a few weeks/months :p

All this Thiago, Pep, Rosell, CL, 7-0 vs Bayern, Supercopa, CdR stuff aside... how many of you actually think Vilanova is really competent enough to manage Barcelona? The only team he's ever managed is one that plays in the Second Catalan league. Wait, make that Third Catalan league, during his time. He's never been a player worth noting. He's got no experience, no charisma, no real authority... had he not been here during Pep's era, he couldn't get a job in any Liga team, let alone Barcelona.

Should have told that to Pep.... Had he kept his mouth shut, no one would be talking about this .

I think the only thing noting from this is his lack of experience. The other points are irrelevant or don't apply to Tito.
I was actually opposed to signing Tito b.c to me, he was never gonna be able to bring anything different than what had been established with Pep ( the same old same).
This year should be hist first real test but to be honest, with our current squad there is not much he can do (especially when you are competing against Bayern, BVB, Madrid for CL or la liga).
But if he fails, Barca should deff look into an experienced coach.

Tito had a very good start of the season, last year. After he relapsed, things went south, and no need to mention his rotation of Xavi was bad. Also his weird love for an off form Pedro. I'm not entirely sure he is really competent, but I guess we'll see now.

I'm not saying that the league success has nothing to do with him, but in all honesty, he started his spell here with a team almost the same as the one Pep used in his final seasons here. The team and their gameplay can't just go bad over the holidays. But eventually, as we've seen, things started getting bad. And exactly in these "minor" details such as rotating Xavi, playing off-form players, bad subs, bad lineups etc., is where you can recognize his incompetency. The further the season went, the worse our game got. Those are signs of the Pep days wearing out and Tito's days settling in. I'm not saying he's not fit for a football manager in general, obviously he knows things, but he's not good enough to coach a huge club like Barcelona, a club that was on top of the world when he took over.

Tito's current state of affairs regarding his health is enough reasons for him not to be the coach at this present time. I understand and admire the solidarity the club has taken in supporting him, but due to his illness he should have stepped down as soon as it was diagnosed. I've known sufficient cancer patients to know that it isn't something to mess with. I understand tito's valiant stance but Rest and recuperation is important. Added to that, he's already scheduled to miss a number of games due to appointment overseas. In this light, it's in the best interest of the club and tito's health that he step down.

How were Barcelona on top of the world when he took over?

They were eliminated in the CL semi and finished second behind Madrid.

Barcelona were not the team they were in Peps last season that is just some people on here try to ignore.

Pep could see the way it would go, he tried something different and it didnt work.

But just because we support Barca doesn't mean we have to support everything the club does. Or blindly support Rosell, or believe that the club can do no wrong.
