Funniest thing is that it might even turn out to be true.

Our immediate future can go south very quickly. Either we get Haaland by selling Frenkie and signing Kessie as a replacement with Busquets finally getting benched, and with a proper Alba replacement we might be able to compete for the league right away at least.

Or we sell Frenkie but fail to get Haaland and end up with Morata full-time and then even Kessie is benched by Busquets or played out of position to accommodate him and we're still far away from competing for any major trophies.

Kessie is not a CDM though so either Nico or Gavi goes to that position or it's very likely Busquets is still our starter next season.

I had posted comparative stats in the summer with him, Renato Sanches, and Saul
Better than Saul, but a far cry from what we need

Good stamina, and all-around defensive cover work.
No progressive passing, no progressive runs with the ball.
