$$ - Frenkie de Fraud

Good to see him getting more game time, fingers crossed no more injuries. I'm pretty confident Flick will bring the best out of him and hopefully unblock the long forgotten ability to play long passes behind defence to our attacking players.

You're welcome
only one thing he needs to do is not get injured. that is all.

Will shine in a team with plenty of movement and good tempo.

Don't let the Frenkie fanboys put you off the fact that he was very good today. It's ok that he was good in fact I prefer it.
He definitely had a good game, was one of the first to say it here, take nothing away from the game he had.

But I rewatched the pass.

Come on guys, to all you guys who have been bashing him. This man totally changed the game. The moment he entered the pitch we regained total control. Gets disrespected too much.
It's Frenkie, but also Real run their legs in the first half. They couldn't press anymore in the second.

Partly his good, but also Real getting very tired.

I thought he would thrive in Flick's football, but it's tough to imagine him starting over current form Casado and Pedri. Olmo is our most attacking oriented mid who should start when healthy and then there is Gavi/Fermin and lastly Bernal.

De Jong is a different kind of well rounded mid. I'd love to keep him, but someone's playing time has to suffer greatly, and it'd mostly likely be Gavi. He just doesn't offer anything in any of those three roles better than the others can. He will also need to learn how and when to press, vs running around randomly and leaving holes in midfield everywhere.

One thing is for sure, De Jong's intensity and pressing needs to improve in order for him to earn his spot. I don't care how good he can be, he's got to run. He's been out for 6 months with a nagging injury, so I'm willing to accept that he might be off due to that. That excuse won't last long though.

I'd say De Jong is superior to both Pedri and Olmo deeper. If no injuries happen, the depth in midfield is superb. You have Gavi too. Many top talents.

Means the focus has to be on the next 9, back-up fullback and back-up winger. Both Ferret and Ansu are simply not good enough.

DeJong is leaving this team before Gavi. Gavi is the heart of this team. Just look at the video of him coming back. The guy is born captain. HEART AND SOUL player.

DeJong is paid merchant compared to Gavi.

This shit always makes me laugh. The kid commits a ton of fouls, isn't disciplined with his pressing but acts like a tough guy and shows how much he loves the club and people eat it up.

I always want players to have heart and be committed like him, but he has no real outstanding qualities outside that love and effort when compared to our other options. A great, reliable squad player, yes. Not the guy you want starting over our other players in the CL final or classico though.

I hear you, but nah.

Maybe Olmo, but not pedri, and actually neither of them.

When everyone is fit, he's our 4/5th best midfielder, depending how someone rates casado this season.

Pedri
Olmo
Gavi
All clear him.
