Romeu made it worse but as a whole midfield lost control.

Xavi definitely shouldn't have changed the midfield, subs should have been yamal & lewa on like i said in the match trend, thats it,
Leave the Midfield as it was, they were running things, moment he tried to play gavi in the "10" shit fell apart.

Midfield was already creaking and Gavi/Gundo failing to control it....
Hence why he tried to change it.
Gavi could barely get on ball for a while before Romeu came on.
Shit sub though.
Xabi tried to switch Gavi and Gundo and put Gavi back deeper at one point and nothing changed.

He is missed as most tactically 'intelligent' midfielder, only athlete and the one who controls the game better than anyone else.
Gavi and Guno looked very good when Real sat off and tried to play on break for most part... when they started to press Barca looked weak and all over the place.
The worst part was Xavi thinking that adding Romeu to a midfield of Gavi and Gundo who were starting to get overrun would improve things.
Real had athletes v Gavi and Gundo and making it a physical battle and Barca lost that as game went on.
Pedri and FDJ are big misses.
Could still have won eithout them and lost with them but they are clearly missed.

Maybe switching Cancelo to the left
And pushing Chris more into midfield to help with control would have been a much better option IMO

Pedri doesnt need FDJ to be a top player... it is easier when best players play together but Pedri will make it easier for FDJ also.
Xavi would guess starts heading back to more of the midfield from last season soon and must surely see how much control the midifeld loses when Gavi is playing deeper.
