Get the new manager in before thinking of losing Frenkie.

Imagine ending up with a guy like Flick while selling the best midfielder for him.

Chelsea by all accounts are in danger of failing FFP.. cant see how they could afford him.

Man Utd the same if last summer is anything to go by but there is word of Casumero/Varane leaving and Bruno heading to Saudi.

Flick may be happy enough to take in Kimmich if it became possible due to FDJ leaving.

Also Flick hasnt got great options.. he is going to take the job no matter what really.

Issue is getting back to the 1:1 rule with the La Liga Salary Cap.

They'll have to make some sacrifices.

I doubt they get near 1:1.

Same was said last summer and were never near it.

Likes of Kounde, Raphinha, Lewa should be going but reality is these buys probably have very little ability to make money on.

From what I have read we basically need to receive the money from the levers due this summer, which is hardly a guarantee given some of the shares were sold to charlatans.

Then sell player(s) for more than 100m.

Then we'll finally be able to properly register Vitor Roque, Inigo Martinez, contract of new manager, sign Cancelo and probably let Atletico fuck us over by overpaying for the twink Laporta loves so much in Felix.

FDJ most likely wouldnt improve situation by 100m.

Once take off his amortised cost and the salary/bonus would most likely still want that in itsefl could be touching 35/40m.

Dont need to get to 1:1 to register those players. Same as havent been last summer or two summers prior.

1:1 then only applies if stay above that 100m.. the replacement for FDJ would take them below it again.

Will probably be a couple of other sales in addition to him, if he tells them he want to leave.
I'm kinda indifferent to whether he stays or goes. Might be more pro him staying because you just know the replacement they'll sign for him will be worse.

I found a replacement for Frenkie. Sell him for 110m to Man Utd only and get Iliya Gruev from Leeds United for 15m. They have a lot in common with deep play playmaking. Long passing, side passing, even Busi style tackles that end up with booking. I'm 90% joking of course, Gruev is just getting into good form in Championship football, but there are options on the market for any position. Nobody is indispensable. Many clubs have mastered this, Barca haven't.

FDJ amortization is around 10.67M per year, with 2 years left in contract (that is based on calculations of his price from Ajax being 80M).

His rumoured salary from a leaked contract was 19M gross + 2M for playing 60% of games and 4M bonus through next 2 years.

So if we sell for 100M then that is 76.7M profit on amortization alone.
Then we save 10.67M from amortization as a freed salary cap.
Then we save 25M from salary.
That is 76.7M profit plus 35.7M freed up salary cap, how much do you think he will demand (and actually get) from defered wage so that it won't make a massive difference?

His contract at 19m gross includes deferred salary. His appearance bonus he wouldnt be due but the loyalty bonus he would be.

Wouldnt be the savings you make out unless he gave up deferred salary and bonus.

Also if I am his agent I am saying no chance of 100m fee and much lower than that and similar to what they tried to force him out on before.

Honestly, I don't think we will get 1:1 next season or the one after.
We had the chance to do it in 2022 for the long run but we artificially raised it with full awareness of us not being able to sustain those numbers in the next few years.
The usage of 1:4 rule has been always the plain.

We just need good sales to register Roque, get Cancelo and add midfield reinforcements. And god knows what they want more.

It is not 1:4 anymore and closer to 60% for next season I believe.

This summer and winter 2025 they will be starting to use income projections for the new stadium which will make a difference.

Well we are going to have to make sacrifices with some players we don't really want to sell next Summer.

If it is Frenkie, then it is Frenkie. But hopefully we can deload Christiansen and Kounde, Ferran or Raphinha, Lewandowski first.

Alonso and Roberto off the books. Inigo the year after.

That's some pretty substantial cap reduction.
