You're too pessimistic nowadays.

I'm actually optimistic, think we will win the treble this season. There are just certain things that I can't agree with. Coutinho being a midfielder in the mould of Iniesta or De Jong being anything special.

less than half of the cost, Arthur was more of a reasonable gamble than FDJ tbf.
If FDJ became Busquets long term replacement then he is worth the money, but the risk right now is huge. The pressure on him is insane, a player worth fortune whom we had to compete with other rich clubs to get. He just made life harder for himself in the very near future tbh, let's all hope he is up for the challenge

I think that if the talent is right, and the age is right, and the mentality is right, it will show through in the end. We need to do our job too. It's not like we sign the player and we basically decline responsibility about what happens to him inside our club.

90 million for a midfielder who stands out at nothing except a bit of dribbling and slightly above average passing in a league that is ranked 6 places below Ligue 1 and even below the Turkish and Ukrainian leagues. Well done.

Let's hope Valverde leaves next summer because the heart attacks on Barcaforum when he rides the bench won't be pretty.

If you’re a master of those two things as a midfielder then that’s fine. Add position sense and some defending ability and you’re good to go. What does kroos do well aside from pass the ball and hit long shots?

Football is about doing simple things well

I think we found our niche for selling underperforming players. Loan them to the EPL and sell them afterwards. These low-mid table clubs are willing to spend a lot of money now and most of our ‘bad’ players are light years ahead technically than the players in these clubs.

If they are older, China is the best destination for both the played and the club.

We got lucky with both Paulinho and Gomes (Everton has not officially informed us that they would buy him by the way) and Mina, I don't think such cases can be replicated.

I mean you also said Dembele's ceiling is Alexis Sanchez, while he's showing he can be much, much better. Still young and figuring out how everything works for a club like Barcelona. His skillset and ceiling is undoubtedly higher though with his dribbling and close control improving, and his creativity being a strength for him. Even chipping in with key goals now.

I know the hysteria in this forum is constant, but perhaps we shouldn't jump to conclusions so fast?

While I agree with you about the price being too high, but didn't we say the same thing about Dembele's price tag places him under extra pressure to perform? He is performing now, isn't he?

Says Ajax isn't the only club profiting of the €90m De Jong transfer.

His childhood club (Willem II) gets €7m while RKC Waalwijk gets €4m million, more than RKC's anual budget.

Willem II and RKC share their youth academy, that’s why RKC is getting the money (if anyone wonders).

How do we know if Mentality is right? You can never know while he is playing somewhere else
Talent looking good in far inferior league can always be tricky tbh, hell even in stronger league.
Let's see how it goes, but I've to say that lately I was actually more inclined that we shouldn't break the bank for him. This might be one of the deals that define Abidal's career here

Some of the few positive things that come out of these transfers. Best of luck to them.

Lets hope you leave the forum for good.

Absolutely awful and ignorant description of Frenkie De Jong.

Well, that's the main thing that ups the risk. Main thing that impedes talented players for working out at some clubs.

Why do many people on this forum wish for people with different opinion to be gone for good?

whats the point of the forum if everyone has the same exact thoughts and opinions

90m on De Jong, 160m on Coutinho, 105m+ on Dembele ... how the fuck are we able to spend more than Real Madrid knowning that they have way more money than us?
