The last 3 matches against German teams which I watched (Germany, Bayern, Germany) he was poor and quite neutralized.

He is young, he will learn and improve.
And it shouldn't be a problem against light and technical La Liga teams.

But he'll need to learn a lot of things in the future against physical teams like Germany.

It's not always about physique duh.
For now, Frenkie doesn't seem to have world-class intelligence to make correct decisions when the opponent is making quick transitions.

He was great vs France and Madrid, two very physical teams. So... your theory is very selective.

What does physical even mean? Madrid physical? They're sure as hell physical, but they're not clean in the last 2 seasons particularly, which makes us hella predictable as to where you can draw a foul or how to bypass the mids. de Jong doesn't struggle against these teams. Put him against thugs who are actually compact and organised in how they defend and story is a wee different.

France in a glorified friendly?

Against Real, I don't consider Real as a physical team.
They are more physical than us, but we are historically one of the lightest teams in Europe.

Anyway, these Germans have a marker on De Jong all the time.
And then he is struggling.

As if Germans are aware of him as their main playmaker and are making the biggest pressure on him.
In all 3 matches he was quiet under these circumstances.

But as said,I don't believe that Getafe and La liga teams will be able to cause him similar problems.

Most players struggle when they have someone on them all game.

Well, yes.

All teams struggle against parked buses.
But you need to find ways to overcome it.

He'll have a marker on his back in all big matches from now on when teams will learn that he is the main playmaking threat.

He has 9 tackles in this game so far. Given that you stress tackles and defensive contribution so much, explain this stat. Does not this mean that De Jong is a defensive stalwart?

That's more an argument for not relying on one main playmaker and less about De Jong. We shouldn't have that problem with him, because we have a far better midfield than the Dutch NT. Man marking Frenkie shouldn't be a viable strategy vs us in any game.

He has a lot of tackles.
But also a lot of positionally questionable movements for now.
The same as De Light.

So, Frenkie's today's match:
A lot of good tackles.
A lot of running and trying, though.
A lot of fouls.
A few bad errors.
Bad defensive positioning at times.
Quiet game in attacking sense sincr he was man marked all the time.
