Frenkie had a decent game, but he also had to play the position that doesn't really suit him. He has his strength in carrying the ball forward. Pedri played the more offensive 6 yesterday and Frenkie fell back most of the time to the backline to build up the game from there. In Flick's system, Pedri and Frenkie don't really fit to play next to each other as both have their strengths playing the more offensive 6.
I fear it will be very difficult for Flick to find Frenkie a permanent role in his system, where he can show his qualities. And that is longterm obviously unacceptable with his salary.
