It was a pleasure to have you Gabi, you may not have been the most solid defender but you left your skin on the pitch every time. Hope to see you in a dugout in the near future.

Always the same interview when they get one from an ex-player. "Oh this Barça is extraordinary, Messi, Neymar, Suarez, pfff incredible."

He's been a coach for almost a decade now, spent most of the time in Argentina with Estudiantes, Independiente and Argentinos Juniors and also been in Chile for a year.

In March this year he took over Atletico Mineiro and now has them on the verge of Copa Libertadores final after beating Gallardo's River Plate 3-0 in the first leg of semi-finals. And in quarter-finals they've already eliminated the defending champions Fluminense.

Earlier this year Gaby won his first title as a coach after beating arch-rivals Cruzeiro in the final of Campeonato Mineiro. Not doing so good in the Brazilian Serie A though where Atletico currently sits 9th. Looking at the results seems like they are a bit inconsistent and draw too many games.

Their main player and captain is Hulk but they also have likes of Deyverson (ex Levante and Alaves) who scored two goals yesterday, former Las Palmas CB Mauricio Lemos, Chilean NT legend Eduardo Vargas and Paulinho (ex Leverkusen) who also added a goal vs River.

Tbf with what CBs we had at that time he wouldn't be the worst option. But not for 30m or whatever UDLP demanded for him ofc.

And somehow he's still only 28 (will turn 29 end of the year).
