By we I meant by the staff (...our club...us...) We must see him come slowly into the side so he can adapt, grow physically and further learn from the senior players over an extended period. We must not rush him like we did with Bojan and besides Pedro and Jeffren deserve their chances as they have proved themselves with Athletic, not so with Gai.

He's been on and off for them to be honest and while he's an amazing dribbler, he hasn't yet come to terms with the physicality of the league. Sometimes he plays brilliantly others he is invisible. Anyways this is the stats I added up (so could be wrong):

Played 19
Starts: 9
Subs: 10
Scored: 2
Assists: 2

His season with Athletic was like this: at first he wasn't chosen for the first 6-7 games then played quite a few both as sub and starter then got injured for some while and has been subbed in thrice.

Also out of 7 friendly games he has played 4, started 2 and sub for 2.

All I'm saying is, what's the rush? Surely he wouldn't be a starter for Barca next season, then why not give the sub positions to those who have earned it? Let him become a leader in Athletic all the while training with the senior squad many a while and getting Copa games. Later he can join the senior team.

Not very impressing is it?
Much depends whether Barca B catches promotion or not. In case they do, I`d leave him in Athletic for another season

As I've stated before, I'd prefer that we don't get promoted. Further, if we do get promoted there'd be even less a chance of Gai playing and if they don't believe he's ready for the first team yet then we might see him going out of Masia. He CANNOT play in the first team yet IMO. Proven talents like Bojan are hardly geting a shot so I don't see him playing for the first team at all next season. Plus he isn't ready physically. Let's be practical people, he's a great talent, yes but as of now he can't cut it with the big boys. His game needs much more improvement.

From the videos and highlights I've seen of Gai, I'm highly impressed. I've heard that people in Barcelona rate him very highly, and have even gone as far as to dub him "the Israeli Messi".

He's one of the canteranos that I want to see the most, along with a few others like Jeffrén, Thiago, Muniesa, and Johnny Dos Santos.

I agree. But I'm confident that Johnathan won't want to be like his brother. Surely, after seeing Gio go from Barça to Spurs to freaking Ipswich, he would try as hard as he can not to follow in his foot-steps.

Anxiously waiting for the next match
I have high hopes for Gai instead of buying an expensive player to replace Henry when he is done i hope Gai bursts onto the scene and continues Barça's great use of home grown players!! He has Big potential!!

Will he be promoted to Barca A squad next season???

No, at least not realistically, he has to play a full season in the Segunda B first. However he probably will be a bit like Xavi Torres and Thiago, playing a few matches here and there.

i think he will he got injured this last season so it was tough this man has the potential to be the closest thing to messi we have in youth

Visca el filòsof!
I suspect we'll see some of Gai in the early copa matches, but don't expect too many La Liga appearances whilst we still have something to play for.
