Gerard Deulofeu

Messi had to play every minute since Suarez was banned and he desperately wanted to win.
He still has the most minutes played in 2015 with his 2months out. Injury was inescapable.
He played explosively like in CL and copa del rey last season but he will eventually change his role like Iniesta did. and i have no doubt he will adapt well... well but he is only 28 now anyway
Deulofeu,,, hmmm i haveen't watche everton's match full time. But hope he grow well

Surely Barcelona will pay him more than Everton though?

We pay pretty well. Lukaku is on 75K a week. It's not top top money but for a 22 year old it's not chump change.

It is interesting that Deulofeu's contract for us is only 3 years with an option for another year if we choose. Martinez does like rewarding our young players with longer and more lucrative contracts as soon as they start performing on the pitch but I would imagine his hands are tied a little due to the buyback clauses.

He won't come back, he fits the Premier League with all the space they leave there. For us (in Lucho's first pre-season) and Sevilla he's been totally useless.

He wasn't bad in Lucho's first preseason. And for how much he played, he was hardly a flop with Sevilla. Wasn't he assist leader for them?

Sorry, I never liked him. I remember some games in the Copa and ChL with Pep and Tito in charge, he was like a headless chicken. And you can be sure the rivals were really lame. :lucho:

Are you 14? Bias like this only gets a pass if you're a child. Literally using cameo appearances in throwaway Copa games to discredit a kid who was 17 at the time. And he still was assist leader at Sevilla. Just like he is assist leader right now for Everton.

change that little signature of yours to "I know I'm petty", m8.

I think he would fit quite well into Lucho's Barça - as long as he remembers to track back of course. And it seems he has improved in that area.

Got a hard-on, Janie? Learn to read, I've seen him a lot at Sevilla. Assists? Gotta love stats, just like Fabregas and other Barca flops.

You cannot call a player who wasn't even given a full season with the senior side, a flop for Barca. That's not fair.

Or even a full game.

Not even during that supposedly awful pre-season he had under Lucho did he play for a full half for us.

The thing about Deulofeu is that he sometimes needs a run of games to get his confidence and match sharpness up. He was absolutely awful when he came on for us as a sub in his first proper game of the season. It was hilariously bad - he made Lukaku look like he had a silky touch.

But that's just him. He can go from awful to great in the space of 10 mins and the more confidence and experience he builds the less he's awful. Even if he was playing like Messi for us I would doubt he could do it for Barca due to the pressure until he had been playing at that level for at least a full season.
