He's still only 23. Another 3 years of development playing for a good Series A team will improve his football IQ. But let's be honest. His career hadn't been a disaster. It's just not quite reached the heights required to be a starter at Barca.

+1 I can only remember a couple of things he’s done well in all the games he’s played, his decision making in the final 3rd is really bad.

In terms of squad status drama Aleix Vidal is the king of this. He's been falling out of favour since he arrived and he is still at the club, making some love gestures to FC Barcelona by kissing the badge after he scored yesterday.

There is next to no personal development in him as a player.

I think Italian football actually suits him more than any other league, they kind of attack in if & starts in Italy and not a constant motion the way it is with us/liga or the epl.

Which is probably why he did well in Milan, he creates 3/4 moments per game & it works there. That will not work in Barcelona, which is why I was against taking him back.
