The comment is a bit disingenuous because Pique had left Barcelona at the ages these players broke through for greener pastures.

The only comparison we can make is that at the age that Pique broke into the first team, Cubarsi is currently a superior player. So to suggest they wouldn't make it is a tad egotistical.

He's right they wouldn't be starters in the team that's obvious.

We had to push them through for obvious reasons, but if pep was the manager they would be getting minutes to develop

Him saying they wouldnt be starters is true. I read an article a week ago of him saying that.

But the part about playing out of necessity implying theyre not up to barca standard seems words have been twisted or mistranslated.

Pretty sure he meant in terms how they were rushed because we didn't have better options or had none in 1st team. Which is right. In prime Barca these players wouldn't have gotten to play this early. Or this much as starters.

Sure right. But words misrepresented. So me right as well.

🚨🎙️ | Gerard Piqué: "Football, especially at Barça, is highly emotional. A clear example of this is what happened in January 2015 with Luis Enrique and Messi. There was not just a sporting crisis but also an institutional one, which forced Bartomeu to call elections due to mounting pressure. At that time, polls in Catalan newspapers showed that Bartomeu had almost no support, with less than 1% voting intention. Elections were scheduled for the summer.

Over the next six months, we barely lost a game, won the treble, and suddenly Bartomeu won re-election by a wide margin against Laporta. This makes you stop and think—nothing had changed: the same players, the same management, the same president, and board. Yet, public opinion shifted drastically in just six months, purely based on sporting success.

I believe Barça fans & socis are smart and experienced, capable of making informed choices. I'm not saying re-electing Bartomeu was right or wrong, but it's fascinating how dramatically perspectives can change based on results alone."
