he was alright, tbh. didn't cover himself in glory for the goal, but then neither did Valdés running all the way out there when it was obvious that Dani had Negredo covered.

he got the living shit kicked out of him, which can't have helped his focus, but he wasn't a disaster zone despite getting no cover from Dani so being isolated with a winger and a forward (often Kanoute and Perotti) who played around him quite well.

I think he's tired. he went from being a sub/squaddie to playing 2 years of football in a row with very little rest over the summer. and now he's bangin' Shakira which has to be exhausting.

he was class in the Mestalla, which has given us hell for years, so I wouldn't worry about him too much.
