Who should we sign then? I can't possibly come up with a name of a defender who I honestly think will be able to adapt to the Barca tici-taca football. I've always wondered though who the possible prospects could be..

German Pezzella and Simon Kjaer were my suggestions in another thread. Both young, talented and won't be costly. But it could be any other defender that Barca scouts may find.

True, but he is one of those few defenders who would fit in very well at Barca. so the question is, people running around screaming for a new CB signing, who do you actually recommend?

Barca doesn't need an expensive 27 years old defender who comes to be a first team player. Barca already have two solid CBs for the first team.

And you are one of those who claims that Thiago, Busi, Keita and Afellay cannot cover up Xaviesta. I don't even want to know how you can think an inexperienced slow CB, a 32 year old veteran who seems to have lost a bit of his pace and a defensive fucking midfielder, who has played that position for not more than 2 months and been barely adequate, would cover up Pique and Puyi. Of them, one is a 33 year old veteran who has not yet recovered from a surgery and missed most of the last season for injury and the other one needs to start every match at national level(there's going to be qualifiers) and almost every match at club level too because there's no other young defender who's able to cover up for him... If any thing your logic is totally that, horrible!!

LOL... I never once said thiago, keita, busi and affelay couldn't cover for xaviniesta. i said i'd feel more comfortable with cesc on the team and i'd like that signing but i'd feel fine about our chances if we were left with no cesc and the aforementioned players.
And I know you are the person who said abidal was supposed to be moved to cb and that's why we were after jose angel, so now that you're arguing with me he's too old to cover that spot? get real, brobro, at least keep continuity with your ridiculous posts.
And correct me if I'm wrong but didn't mascherano play the semi final and final of cl as a cb? he covered just fine there in some of our biggest games last season and i believe he can do it again. don't forget bartra as well.

Let's be realistic, puyol being 1st choice CB hinges on him actually being fit for most of the season, and since he's not even back in full training and has played like 5 games since january, that's a bit of a stretch at this point. i'm puyol's biggest fan (xbox gamer id = puyolthebeast ), but if we're making this kind of analysis, putting him as 1st choice CB makes our defense seem stronger than it is. so i'm just going to remove puyol for now because everyone knows when he's fit he's the first name on the team sheet, but nobody knows how many games the beast has in him this season.

1st choice: pique and abidal
2nd choice: fontas and mascherano
3rd choice: busquets

now next summer, we look for a defender.

no if xavi and iniesta are out, we can wage war with thiago cesc and busquets. most coaches in europe would sacrifice their left nut for that midfield. but with pique and puyol out, we are horrendously short at the back, as we saw today when your PLAN B was playing. we have insurance policies in all areas of the pitch except for CB. and when teams do stupid stuff like this, it's inviting trouble. just set your pride aside and admit that we need a new cb, honestly nobody will think any less of you. and if you're going to respond to this post with "well pep doesn't think we need a cb so neither do i" then please, spare me and just don't respond.
