he's an odd player, in his time at spurs he was shut out and barely played for years there
but that's when he shined the most for Mexico's NT.. scored a beauty against USA in the final, I always rated him better than Mexico's golden boy Chicharito.. he was the only one able to do the unexpected, dribble and create he'd play like a budget version of Messi while the others were trying to play second division football, hoofing it and hoping for the best.
but he stopped caring about football halfway through his years in Villarreal and it got worse when he got to MLS
he had so much potential.. but like Vela they just lost interest in football and did it just for the pay check.
