Nice! They still got a few City loanees? Hope they get promoted this season.

No. They have Lord Gumbau though.

I think on paper Girona is the best team in Segunda (they didn't start the season well though with just one point in two games) but there are probably 8-10 teams with very good chances for promotion and we can always expect some surprises as well.

Personally I would like to see Girona coming back to La Liga alongside Zaragoza and Sporting Gijon. Racing would be good as well but they were just promoted from Segunda B so their primary goal is to stay in Segunda.

Girona have signed Yangel Herrera on a permanent transfer from City. Had injury problems last year but very good player when fit.

They will gradually grow to be a consistent Europa league side imo.

Way LaLiga is going, it won't be a considerable investment. Plus they can insert some rocketfuel and manipulations from the City Group.

Last year he already dressed in rojiblanco, but on loan from Manchester City. Now he will wear the shirt of the Girona entity again, but in property after terminating the year of contract that remained with the English entity.

I Wonder if they would have done that for him to sign anywhere else.

Also how would Tebas react if Barcelona performed similar deals. Bet he would try to amend the rules.

Interesting TW so far. I think best XI will be worse than last year (especially offensively, they've improved defensively though imo) but if they can bring a few more quality players then they'll have better depth which will be needed to play in CL.

Out - 51m
Artem Dovbyk (Roma), Aleix Garcia (Leverkusen), Savinho, Yan Couto, Eric Garcia, Pablo Torre (end of loans)

In - 21m
Abel Ruiz (Braga), Ladislav Krejci (Sparta Prague), Alejandro Frances (Zaragoza), Donny van de Beek (ManU), Gabriel Misehouy (Ajax), Bryan Gil (Tottenham), Oriol Romeu (Barcelona)

According to Sport they are looking to sign at least 6 more players - GK, FB, another DM, AMC, winger(s) and a striker.

According to MD Girona is close to sign Bojan Miovski to replace Dovbyk. 25 years old, he scored 16 goals in each of the last two seasons in the Scottish PL for Aberdeen and previously played two years in Hungary after leaving Macedonia. Genoa and Espanyol were also interested but he choose Girona, likely because they'll play in CL.

Don't know him but looks a late bloomer like Dovbyk. Maybe @JamDav1982 can give us a scouting report.

Miovski is one I mentioned here a year back as being far too good for Aberdeen. He then went on to score 26 last season for a very poor Aberdeen side who didnt create much.

It is hard to tell how will translate but at Aberdeen he has been a good technical player.. holds up ball well and can run in behind also but without blistering pace which may be more an issue in Spain.

He got 4 goals and 2 assists in Europe and scored very good goals v Celtic and Rangers more than once which I would imagine gets him noticed more than v dross in SPL.

Not sure who would say he is most like... hint of a poor mans Van Persie maybe with some of his goals.

A lot of players have left Aberdeen in recent years and done well and would hope he is next as been a class act the whole time on and off the pitch.
