All goals scored or disallowed should be able to be reviewed. Goal celebrations go on for minutes anyways, so the refs could give it a quick look to make sure the goal is legit or not. It takes the human error out of the game, almost every other sport in the world has got it right but the beautiful game still hasn't.

Looks like UEFA hasn't fully embraced the idea yet but FIFA has.

Human error is part of the game but when it's committed by a match official I think not, as it actually interferes with the match and the delivery of a fair result. Besides, if the error is there, shouldn't we fix that error if possible?

It would also cut down on some of the corruption in the sport I suppose, depending on how far they're going to go with the technology. Wouldn't be able to do anything about for example, a defender purposely scoring an own goal, or a gk purposely conceding, but can at least cut down on how much a corrupt or biased ref would be able to affect a match.

Most importantly, it would improve the image of referees in general. No more stupid memes about poor refs who're just committing human mistakes...seriously their job is extremely difficult, especially that of the linesmen.

Goal-line technology is one of the easiest technologies to implement, so I'm all for it. As for offsides, I'm sure that if FIFA/UEFA actually solicit an RFP, there will be a lot of innovating solutions. In just my university, scientists and engineers (such as myself :p) have solved much more difficult problems. We'll still need refs, because somebody still needs to officiate games, interpret the data and make decisions. So their job will not become obsolete. The technology will just be another tool they're equipped with.

There's no charm in seeing so many avoidable errors in the most popular sport in the world (unless you think it teaches us and the players life lessons)

I think everyone has been waiting for this.. except for Platini. But Platini has a point on the funds needed for the goal line technology. It will cost a lot for maintaining and applying in the leagues around the world.

Yeah, that's the only thing, will the smaller/less rich countries be able to afford something like this? Would think it would have to be regulated across the board somehow if this is FIFA suggesting this.

I like fixed matches :xavi:

But no seriously, against it, i enjoy the drama of it when mistakes happen, i don't want it to change.

You like the drama when it's against Milan too? Well, each to his own, I see no fun in that. I think there's enough drama without refs mistakes weighting in.

It happens, I'd be butthurt for a while but i'd get over it. I personally find squeeky clean boring. As i said i like a bit of controversy sometimes & i think things are perfect the way they are right now, i don't want change.

That's only my personal opinion i'm sure alot of people would disagree.

Voted no. I like simple football and all aspects on it. There is no perfect thing, true the technology is suppose and can help the game more "fair" but I don't need all of that details. I love football and every part of it, the wrong decision, the fights, the joy, the sadness, no need to change anything. IMO
