Yes. Higgys coming back from injury didn't help ARG at all. Sad their biggest strenght pre wc was what let them down.

to his miss vs Dortmund
to his horrible all-around CL record for Madrid (8 CL goals in 7 seasons, not even sure if any in knockout games).

Np. I don't expect ppl to rate him, or not criticize him. But I do mind when there is nothing but constant hate.
And you're partly right. He can choke at times, but you can make a similar case for his peers. I mean where was Benzema when he really needed to deliver? No Honduras in the KOs for him, sadly.
Copa America Q.final '11. Another he scored from a corner was wrongly called-off. Not bad for a choker.
He's done well with Napoli in the CL last season, scoring in a must win game on the last match day.
Anyway, I'm done with this thread.

Higgy will be devastated, so sad for him. He should not be blamed for this defeat. He is a world class striker but it is just not his day. He does not look completely fit either. The fab 4 looks out of form and shows lack of fitness. Injuries for 4 of them caused this I think. Don't hate him guys Argentina would not have here if it is not for him. Same for messi mascherano and di Maria and Romero. They fought but clearly it is not enough the opponent is just too powerful and in form and have better fitness than Argentina. On other day we would be seeing messi lifting the trophy with higuain hailed as national hero, but reality hurts

His form was only partly because of his injury. He has always been such a hot and cold player, and unfortunately for us we've got the latter version of him in this WC. This generation of #9 Argentinians didn't produce any Batistuta and Crespo type of finishers. Higuain is the best #9 Argentina has right now and he could be the most terrible choker here and there. There is Mauro Icardi we could count on as the #9, who is one of the best finishers I've seen around lately, but that also depends on if the next Argentine coach will call him up or not.

I wanted to slap him yesterday because of his misses. But then I came into sense this morning and really felt bad for him. Usually he is the most clinical finisher in Argentina NT squad and also very unselfish. But what was surprising was to see him squander the chances that are actually his bread and butter. I'm guessing the pressure of playing in a WC final got to him.

Mandzukic has done well enough. Why is he not happy with him? Torres is the one that is awful, not Mandzukic. Besides, Atletico should buy younger players than Higuain if they really have to buy another striker.

Atletico should be following the likes of Dybala.
Young and talented player to step up and be sold years later for a fortune, just like Aguero, Falcão, etc.

If they wanna invest on some youngster for now and the future they already have Angel Correa.
