Gonzalo Higuain

Feel bad for him. He seemed in great form. It was an idiotic decision to try and lob Bravo from there when that angle was almost covered by the defender. Should've just passed it in the net as Bravo already started guessing and left a lot of room under him.

I wonder how Dybala or Icardi would've solved that situation.

you feel bad for him?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where is the neg button when you need it!

Boy, I actually hoped he'd make some (any) positive contribution this time, even if it meant an accidental pre-assist he knew nothing about. But the opponent gift had to again fall to him of all people. lol From then on, I think even the most optimistic argie fans anticipated that a miss was coming. He'll do the biz until the stakes get higher, should never feature in any final, even as a sub. The tragedy is he's the only one currently who's shown to compliment messi, but he's also such a mental weakling on the biggest of stage. Should have hired a psychologist or whatever it takes to turn things around, but he probably is in denial about his failings.

A great striker on his day, but will always be remembered for the wrong reasons. If I were De Laurentiis, I'd offload him as long as he still has some value. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a tier 2 league earlier than expected.

Pretty sure Laurentis will not offload a guy that scored 38 goals for them last season..

In all likelihood, his international career is over, and in a poor fashion. His value only stands to drop. He's also earned a reputation of being unreliable when it really matters. Not unique to his time with ARG. But for Laurentiis , his striker's coming at the back of his best ever individual season (which wasn't the case the last two summers). Now is the time to cash in. I've seen reports of Chelsea/PSG willing to pay big before his latest gaffe, but may still be interested even if at a slightly lesser fee. Napoli can then either use it to upgrade it's squad, or keep depending on a striker who's not getting any younger, has become the laughing stock of world football, and who may lack motivation going forward. The smart thing is to cash in on him whilst they still can.

it would be stupid to sell him. He is Napolis only real striker, can still play 5 or more years, it causes unrest in the team and the fans, kills the whole momentum, there is no realistic replacement, and it's overall bad style to do that after such a season and quite frankly Higuain's international career has always ben average and he still bangs it for Napoli. Absolutely no reason to sell Higuain, Laurentis will give no shit about Argentina.

the guy scored 38 goals, period, I know you guys are mad because of finals, but I see no reason in doubting his quality for Napoli at this point.
