I do think we should wait to see how we do vs top teams in the KO phase. We’ve no doubt destroyed big teams this season but I’m one of those who really believes that the KOs in CL/WC/Euros are a different beast. That’s where the legends are made (player or manager)

I’m way more hopeful with Flick than Xavi in this regard.

Anyone who doesn't believe this is either an idiot or a liar.

Feck man some are taking all of this way too much for granted.
If anybody had told us this summer, that come March we would:

- Be the most scoring team in Europe
- Absolutely WIPE THE FLOOR with RM and the turtle back 2 back.
- Win all our big games except an undeserved loss to AM.
- Win the Supercopa
- Play entertaining football
- Have players such as Lamine, Casado, Pedri, FDJ, Inigo, Balde and Raphinha flourish.
- Repeatedly show mental fortitude when getting red cards and still win tough games.
- Be 1st in the league
- Semis of CDR
- And be halfway thru to the CL quarters

All of this with a shitshow of injuries to start the season, and Olmo as our only signing to replace Gundo.
Everybody in here would have considered that scenario as an immensively succesful first season for Flick.
Feel blessed to watch this young team produce entertaining football on a weekly basis with some pretty good results so far. It's finally exciting to be a Barca fan again.

As opposed to getting knocked out by average teams in Europe.

Barca getting to semis and competing with likes of Bayern can go either way and is first non failure in terms of minimum expectations in years.

We didn't get knocked out by average teams in Europe last season. We beat Porto two times, Napoli once, did the job. We lost to PSG after falling down to 10 men for over 60 mins vs a superior team.

We will see if this season we can top that or not.

No.. folk can accept that Barca are not sure fire to beat likes of Bayern or any top team.. what is not acceptable is Europe in campaigns under Xavi and going our to lesser teams and failing to beat any of the bigger clubs at any stage be it in groups or knock outs.

If Flicks Barca go out to Benfica or next round same will be said of him.

Porto are and were average in terms of CL level.

Napoli worse again with mess they were in last season.

Barca proved nothing last season but failed badly.

What does that have to do with that comment? Anyone who doesn't believe CL knockouts are entirely different games in terms of pressure and stakes than a group game is an idiot or a liar. Simple.

So are the teams we are facing this season until the semis in the knockouts. Easiest path to a semis I can remember in the last 10 years or so.

Indeed and Xavis Barca crumbled to likes of an average Man Utd, PSG, Frankfurt and couldnt beat any of the top sides in group either.

If Flicks Barca do the same in this round or next same will be said and its a failure.
