I think it's time to create a thread on who's gonna be Xavi's succesor. We all know Flick is toast and Xavi will come back.

Let's think about who will come after Xavi's second stint as manager.

I don't think his style suits the players, let's say.

A lot of these players are barely capable to run let alone play vertical football.

Didn't help playing all pre season with a double pivot and switching to a 433 tonight, having Pablo Torre at f'n CM and Bernal as loan DMC.

Flick was all smiles before kickoff anyways. The team thought they were all still in Palm Springs.

I tried my best to promote the coaches that will fit not our style but the mediocre attack.

Flick isn't an issue, but we aren't there as a team. We aren't there for efective tiki-taka let alone swarming. The positive aspect should be the gain in muscles. But I doubt you can change mentalities so quickly

What good signs? Few good individual performances from the youngsters but haven't seen any improvement in how we played in US tour either.
Quite on contrary i don't remember anyone standing out, but as a team played with purpose and intensity, trying to get ball to the final third quickly and directly, without endless xaviball style passaround and pressed well, when had opportunity. None of it was seen even being tried today.

Not easy to compete when your attacking line is so mediocre.

Xavi got sacked for saying it out loudly.

Lewandowski is washed, Raphinha usually does not perform well. Ferran Torres is dogshit. Vitor Roque so far sadly seem to be a flop. These are not players that instill fear or warrant the respect of the opposition defenders. Lewandowski is so washed he usually has any mid La Liga CB bullying him like he is some bum from Segunda.

Lamine Yamal is the only shining light here and I fear he will get overplayed to compensate for the mediocrity around him.

That’s why people bitching about Olmo don’t make sense. He is a final third specialist with direct intent. None of Pedri, Gavi and even Gundo have that.

As bad as Raph is, he has intensity and workrate. Him, Lamine and Olmo will carry our attack this season.

That's why we all hoped for Nico. Unfortunately he chose Europa League football.

I don't think that's the case. Xavi build the line then he was saved by Cancelo, Guiu, Felix and even Vitor but mostly Yamal, but saved isn't good enough. And if we are honest Koeman would have been sacked mid winter.
Then he started the blame game, the refs, the players and finally the board.
Now of course he was not entirely wrong, we are mediocre, but we spent alot of money to become mediocre.
So things needed to change.
