It's interesting how from Klopp's Dortmund, only Lewy, Gundogan and maybe Reus remained real world-class players after he left. I guess you could argue Gotze still was good, but he never seemed the same after Klopp (though he had illnesses too).
Yeah and I wouldn't add Götze to these 3. He already sucked at Bayern and went downhill from there, even before his prime. He didn't reach rock bottom like Großkreutz, but was still far away from worldclass, the level he was hyped into.

Yeah agree. But he had a lot of ability that he just never fulfilled. And as I say, he had health problems etc.

But yes, not at level of Lewy, Gundo and Reus. Or close.

Rumor in Germany was he looked bloated because he started to take something against hair loss.
I heard that too. I don't know if it was finasteride maybe.

He developed something called myopathy too, not sure if linked.

He always had a rather fat face and round build though, even when he had awesome hair.

He will always be remembered for scoring the winning goal in a World Cup Final at least - how many players can say they did that? Even if he did not much after that.

It’s the first time in a long time that I feel joy watching our games. The first time in a long time that I actually look forward to seeing us play during the weekend. We finally have a coach and a new generation of players that are equally hungry and talented 🥹
I wrote this back in September last year. And I just want to say thank you Hansi. We look like Barca again… Whatever happens in the final stretch of the season.

In the case we do reach the Champions League semi finals, do you think the club will finally grow some cojones and give us a great tifo come April 29th/April 30th ????

Football needs to reduce the number of games, not increase the number of subs. Five subs is already destroying the rhythm of many games.
True from a purist perspective but they've been increasing the # of games.

The biggest issue would be players getting away with more fouls so you counter that by having the subs inherit all the cards and warnings of the dudes they're replacing.

The pros of 9 subs in a 3 subs window is that it would:
1/ help prevent overuse injuries
2/ accelerate the tempo of the game
3/ allow more game time for younger players down the roster list
4/ allow more on the fly tactical adaptations by savvy gaffers
5/ I'm sure there's more ✅

The main neg is that big teams would dominate even more so to counter that, introduce hockey style subs between minutes 50 and 75 where goon enforcers get to wreck the Mobutus of the game :gap:

Also a 3min dance off at the 30th minute, winner gets a penalty but must take it blindfolded!

Fiorentino should hire me as a consiglieri 😏

Some good points there (your more serious ones), but would never really happen as they'd change the game too much. I think some would help, though.

How do you feel about stop clocks and sin bins? Too Americanised? I like the idea of the former to stop time wasting, but wouldn't work from a TV schedule POV as games could go on for hours even if two 30 min halves with a stop clock.

Sins bins is too American for me and would be very jarring, but some like it.

As for 9 subs, I just think changing basically the whole team kinda makes a mockery of the game, but you could be right and football is definitely heading that way. Everything gets expanded. As I said to @soul24rage, it wouldn't surprise me if we see 32-man international tournament squads in the next 20 years (far too many but that is the way it is going).

Some good insights there though, have seen some of your posts and always a good read.

Edit: agree on inheriting cards. It fucking pisses me off when some hatchet man makes foul after foul, finally gets a yellow, then the coach hooks him to prevent a likely red.

Arsenal beat Madrid 3-0 mostly because of two wonder FKs by Rice, not by a great game made by the whole team and also Madrid being shit.

LFC could've been in that position too with a great day from Salah for example even though they always bended to Madrid in recent years.

Tru that 2 goals were fks but do you think Liverpool wouldnt concede at least 2 goals??

Last time i remember Pool conceded 5 goals at home

Yeah Real is now weaker but still

Gunners finished the job what Liverpool, City and Atletico failed

Liverpool is washed. Everybody and their mama knew psg would spank them just like I predicted.

Check my old posts for reference.

Same reason klopp left. Same reason he left Dortmund.

He was ready to lead them teams to relegation.

Shout out current Liverpool manager for getting a title out of this team.

Neah, don't think so, even PSG with their very strong attack couldn't score at home vs. LFC even though they did it on Anfield.

Madrid is nowhere near their attacking prowess atm.

In the first part of the season they've looked impressive, leading PL convincingly and winning CL group stage isn't an easy thing to do, at all.
