Great goal, incredible pace and control at such a high speed. :worthy:

Still not remotely close to Messi, so stop doing these comparisons.

tell that to his manager, teammates and NOW commentators

still think his goal in the FA Cup was better though.

I acknowledge all the time that he will never be as good as Messi. But the similarities in their technique, glued ball to the foot at such a fast speed, maradona goals, cutting inside from right wing and goals to far corner, mazy runs and gameplay is clear for all to see.

How did they allow him to run straight through? He didn't even have to change direction! Still a very impressive goal, but that's some truly atrocious defending

And I will tell it to you. You're a dick.

Besides that, it's a bit of a shit goal. No, not because no one can stand you, though a good reason to be fair, but simply because it is. And I tell you why.

-Gets the ball outside the circle in the middle and touches it last at the penalty spot: that's exactly half of the pitch.
-St. James's pitch is 100.6 metres long. This means he travels 50 metres with the ball, as it was almost a perfect straight line since there was no opposition whatsoever.
-He does this is in 7.5 seconds, which means he runs 100m in 15 seconds. With the ball. Without opposition. Meh.
-Furthermore, he touches the ball five times (six including the shot) during those 50 metres, which equals one touch every ten metres on average. Without opposition. Sloppy.

Now, let's compare this to a rather normal goal, one from Messi. Let's pick the fourth at Malaga this season.
-Gets the ball at the first strip of grass (you know, the different colours on the pitch) in the opposition half and touches it last at the last strip of grass.
-La Rosaleda's pitch is 105m long, there are ten strips of grass, this means he runs 42m with the ball. Since his run has a curve, we can add a few metres and make it a 45m run with opposition before him (+angled shot which slows him down).
-He does this in 6.4 seconds, which means he runs 100m in 14.2 seconds. With the ball. With opposition and an angled shot at goal.
-Furthermore, he touches the ball seven times (eight including the shot) during those 45 metres, which equals one touch every six metres on average. With opposition. Control.

So yeah, conclusion, compared to a normal day Lionel Messi goal, the arguably second-best Ben Arfa goal is slow, sloppy and non-difficult.

I want you now to shut the fuck up and never post again. This forum gets ruined by massive cocks like yourself.

Good player, scored a nice finish against Arsenal a few weeks ago too.

The Bolton and Blackburn goals were brilliant skill but my god, the defending was atrocious. But this isn't surprising as, excluding Wolves, they have the worst defences in the league.

Quite possibly the post ever made on a forum, ever. Especially the first and last lines.

why are you insulting me?

what exactly have I done wrong now?

it's not me who made the Messi comparions. it was his manager, team mates, and the commentator.

don't insult me for pointing it out.

and for the 100th time, HE WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS LIONEL MESSI!

I have every right to come on this thread and discuss Ben Arfa, especially when he has a good game.

and I ask you, if scoring such goals against the likes of Bolton is so easy, why don't we see it every week in the Premier League? tell me, why has no one else scored a similar or better goal in the Premier League this season if it's such a "sh*t" goal like you say???

why is it that Ben Arfa has scored 2 wonder goals this season and no one else has come close to replicating either of them in the Premier League???

and really, how pathetic of you bringing the length of the pitch into this to belittle the goal  the pettiness of it is so

Gnegneri's truth bombs destroyed HBA's mancrush :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

edit: you provoke this kind of a response with your constant attempts at comparing him to Messi, and your borderline obsession with this guy. Im sure you sleep in HBA jammies.

constant? come off it man.

1. His manager
2. His teammates Cisse and Ba saying it
3. Yesterday the commentator when he scored that wonder goal.

a total of 3 occasions is not constant.

It is news if his manager, teammates and TV commentator mention him in the same breath as Lionel Messi. Of course I'm going to mention it in the Ben Arfa thread.

He's my favourite Newcastle player, I'm one of 2 Newcastle fans on the barcaforum so that is why it may seem like I'm the only one that posts on this thread as not too many Barcafans are bothered about Newcastle players.

I just think throwing insults about because you disagree on with someones opinion on the quality of a wonder goal is out of order, and deserving of an infraction or two and a ban.

Anxiously waiting for the next match
For me it was a very amazing gol.... and Something Messi would score.. not sure where all the hate comes from

Really hoping Newcastle clinch that 4th spot, which is odd bc a few years ago I was cheering for them to get relegated... I guess I just like big changes in the EPL. lol
