I was shocked when I saw you posting in this thread since the beginning, Eddy.

I can't think of even one reason why someone would call you a gloryhunter as you're actually supporting Liverpool.

I've always heard people called "weather" fans as apposed to "glory hunters" but never been called one to be honest. Wouldn't care if I was though.

Great times to be a Madrid fan.. ever since Zizou retired and Capello cleaned the house you can't find anyone calling us that.. not even with CR joining .
plus my age and knowledge about my club doesn't allow anyone to call me that

i pity the real Barca,Inter and City fans though :D

A lot ask me why do I support Madrid. They also think I started supporting Inter because they are recently European Champions and they beat Barcelona.

I don't care though, I am a Madridista through and through and Inter will always have a special place in my heart.

I always make a point of supporting the local club when I have lived out of Milano, like Venezia, Depor and Hibernian.

I think this is important, I mean if it comes up here when I meet people it's pretty funny to ask 23 year old United fans why they haven't ever been to Old Trafford or even make away games in London. I make as many Barca games as my pocket allows (different this season) and have always watched Lewes or Brighton if I am at home or Cardiff when I was at Uni.

Just so happens that Barca and Brighton are top of their leagues and Cardiff are second :D

This was when I was a lot younger, not recently.

I'm in the same boat, XMG. But my family (and me as a result) have always been Milan supporters and it's unusual enough for an American to support an Italian club that I don't get the glory hunter label thrown at me too terribly often. Mostly these days I get odd looks from folks because I'm not supporting an EPL club.

yeah I think as Americans we are a special circumstance as we don't have a club we are obligated to feel loyalty towards. It's almost kind of expected that we would like "big" clubs because that's the only TV coverage we get. It's a little different now that we have all these streaming sites but back when I first started supporting Liverpool those sites weren't really around, so it was really only them or Man Utd (and sometimes Arsenal) to choose from. I didn't even know about streaming sites until after I started following Barca (had discovered Barca through the CL but didn't have any of the channels to watch La Liga).

not really. you possibly cant be supporter of the multiple teams in the same tier of clubs.

if thats the case, what would you call a fan that has man utd, barcelona and inter listed as his favorite clubs.

whilst i get your point... a supporter that cheers for barcelona, palermo and tottenham seems much better than the former set of clubs that i mentioned earlier.

I see where you're coming from too but we'll just agree to disagree :p

Lewes are in the relegation zone of the Conference South (1,2,3,4,5, (joint) SIXTH TIER of English football) and I still go and watch them as much as I can..

It shouldnt be about how good they are.

Yeah I watch Cambridge City who are in the league below Conference South as often as I can. It's a good craic going there and I enjoy it. They are doing pretty well at the moment too, in the play off places with a real chance to win the league.

shouldn't be how good they are? so you just support any team because they're the local club so you don't get called a glory hunter? if you enjoy watching a team just watch them if you don't you don't have to

The fact that it's shit shouldn't discourage you from supporting a team.

okay, i agree... i said the league here is shitty because it is and because i love ripping on aussies. what i'm trying to say though is that you shouldn't be obliged to support a local club just because. if you enjoy supporting them then that's fine but don't just do it coz you got people on the internet haulin ass
