The point about Xavi's lower passing possibilities was correct..
This reminds a lot the last season's formation in many matches when SB was the holding and Keita tha box-to-box player..
BUT as i can remember this worked partly bcause Keita is a shadow on the pitch, and doesnot offer neither attacking quality nor defending safety..
The fact that he was at the same horizontal position with Xavi, didnt contribute caus Xavi was carrying again all the weight of responsibility to 'playmake'..
But Xavi is great and in many games he passed the test with flying colours..
So, i think in most games only one holding would be needed, but Xavi and Iniesta creating both.. Not Xavi and SB..
But there are games like semi final in Milan last season when they thrashed us on the brake.. In that cases, both masch and Busquets would be used to prevent counters..
Just imagine that game with Mach playing alongside SB instead of Keita... Does anyone believe that the Inter's scoreline would have reached that level?
Sth like that
-------------Masch------------
--------Xavi-----Busi------------
--Iniesta-----Messi-----Villa-----
could however be working, with Busi playing a box-to-box role and being available for Xavi passes in the offense and Xavi thus dropping deeper.
