The bench isnt nearly as good as the players on the pitch. Whats behind Xavi, Iniësta, Messi, Pedro and Villa? In my opinion it makes the competition for the players behind those that Guardiola selects to start the game completely open. His versatility also increases his chance to play.

Well that's why it's the bench and not the starting eleven... Barca has the best bench out of any team in Europe. You are talking about players who are usually on starting 11's on other teams being in our bench. You are right, they aren't nearly as good as the starting 11 but really, what team and what squad of 11 matches the talent of the Barca starting 11?

We have arguebaly the best starting 11, good bench too boasting off world class players like Milito, Mascherano, Keiteee, Adriano, Afellay... but seriously do we really have a game changer on the bench!? If some how the starting 11 couldn't cut it against the opponents, whom do we bring on to have an impact ala say Henrik Larsson!? That's the direction we should start thinking too, I mean even God's aren't perfect and Xavi, INiesta, Messi, etc are only humans!!
