Fantastic. I might be alone but I think Casillas might have been MotM today. Villa was fantastic as usual but without Iker's awesome saves, Spain could have easily been down 2-1 and Villa's goal wouldn't have put them through. Not taking anything away from Villa, but just sayin'.

How many saves did he make? 1 from a poor penalty, 1 which he spilled horribly and then 1 more to save his arse from the previous error. His kicking was hardly convincing either, so man of the match? Not for me.

Still even with the error, a lot of others wouldn't be able to get up in time and it would've gone through. Both of those in that situation were hit hard enough too to be a challenge to anyone. Granted that PK wasn't the best either but still, the pressure was on and sometimes that's enough to screw someone up. I'm more just saying that he stood out more this match and did a fine job whereas in all the matches before that, the defenders (mainly Pique) stood out as the ones making the saves.
Villa is always going to be considered MotM by the public because he's the one bringing it home, and that's fantastic, I totally agree he deserves the recognition but I also try to justify the greatness of other players too, for example Pique has been massively underrated by the general public this WC (WE all know he's great but is anyone else noticing?) and now Casillas did step it up compared to earlier in the competition, imo anyway.

You cant' believe Belgian television, everytime Casillas even appears on the screen "Oh yes and his beautiful girlfriend .... " or "I think his teammates would love to give an interview ...". Unbelievable.

true, but Belgian television is hardly something to go by. Yesterday in Germany - Argentina, Frank Raes thought the referee had blown for full time after 83 minutes... it is absolutely mind-boggling how incompetent that man is. Didn't recognise Sergio Aguero either.
