Spain coaching staff believe Casillas leaked that he would start against Croatia

José Manuel Ochotorena, the goalkeeping coach, approached Iker Casillas by order of Vicente del Bosque to check how he was and if he was good to play and Casillas thought that meant that he would start against Croatia.

Five hours before the match against Croatia, a radio station announced that Casillas would be starting against Croatia which the staff interpreted as a betrayal by Casillas.
