In regards to Ilias, we will get compensated to an extent thanks to formation rights.
I'd just like to see us have a little more control over the higher potential players.
Let's look at Barbera for example and see how he does in Belgium (I'm going to go on a tangent here btw).
Brighton are benefitting with the development of their players thanks to loaning them to the Belgian club owned by their owner. It's a good platform with conditions to develop their players.
We might want to look at a club we can do that with in a lesser league. A bridge between Barca B and Barca. It is a bit ridiculous how we can miss out on prospects because they don't want to go to Barca B, yet they will willingly sign with Brighton to play in Belgium, or go to Austria with Salzburg.
I think if a Catalan business man wanted to be the next president, then one of the best things he could ever do for his credentials is establish a team that develops these kind of players and links with Barca.
For all the years of candidates for Presidency, no one has ever put their money where their mouth is and tried to run another club. The only guy who ever had this forsight was... Pique. So respect for that.
Also, as an extension of this, it is good to look at a guy like Vicent Tan who bought Cardiff City, Sarajevo and another club (Belgian I think). The first thing he done was to make these sides self-sustainable and profitable within the first 12-24 months.
I think that is a good model for those to think about who will suggest that owning a football club is money drain (true in many cases) and would not make this feasible.
