Where is he going to play? We have FDJ Gavi Pedri as the every game starters. If Messi returns that is 4 every game starters we have no room for him. Then they talk about adding another MF to replace Busi Ambrat/Ruben and then bring back Nico and Torres and Kessie wants to stay seriously wtf is this team doing. Gundo is good offensively but he is not the defensive players FDJ and Gavi are and Pedri has to play all the time.

We need quality depth as well and Gavi is only 19 years old so he doesn't need to play all the time.
Even Pedri is a little bit injury prone and we'll probably sell Kessie and loan out Torres and Nico.

Shows how delusional Barca fans are. Gundogan is the anti Pedri. He shows his best form at the crucial period of the season unlike Pedri who is soft and always injured when we need him. Gavi is just a wannabe Gattuso at the moment and is nowhere near the level required to be a starter.
I share the concern that Gundogan could come here and become absolute shit but it's a free transfer and worth the gamble. Pedri and Gavi are still young and haven't proven they are worthy starters. They have become starters by default because the club was/is in shambles.
You are delusional Pedri and Gavi played virtually every game and play for the Spanish national team they are starters. FDJ is a starter. None of those 3 are going to be backups or gone on loan. The are cemented as starters. Even if we don't sign Messi that is 3 MF starters where is Gundo going to play he is not coming here to be a back up.. Is that 4 MF? What about Messi he is a starter. National teams are considerably weaker than club sides and Lucho (ex Barca) introduced them to the national team. If Barca were not in this financial strife these guys would be riding the bench.
Gundogan is a starter at City who are the best team in the world (no matter what happens in CL). Gavi and Pedri are starters at a club that exited 4 European competitions in 2 consecutive seasons 😂.
While Gundogan may be rotated occasionally if he keeps up his current form he will be a starter.

He has been terrible and his attitude hasn't been great either. His greatest asset ie his finishing has been pretty woeful. Why do you think the club are trying to get rid of him?
I doubt that Messi comes back but stranger things have happened at this club.

Gavi started for us yes, very often, but that doesn't mean he should have. Gavi was largely mediocre or in poor form the majority of the season. He did not grow or improve this season, as opposed to the previous. Pedri did show improvement in some areas, but he was also injured often....probably due to being played unnecessarily every single game last season.
Gundogan should immediately slot into midfield along FDJ and hopefully a new, class DM signing. Pedri should be in rotation, with Gavi behind him. Gavi can also get minutes at LW I guess, since it doesn't seem like we'll have money to sign a decent one. I personally don't see how any of his positive attributes are useful isolated on LW though. We were playing Gavi largely due to lack of better options, and he had some bright moments. They are just too often few and far between. I hope he improves, but he hasn't shown enough or earned a starting spot with his performances over the course of last season.
