It's most likely either very minor or fabricated by the medical staff. Messi wants to play every game because that's the type of player he is, but Pep wants to make sure he is completely rested for the CL return leg and doesn't want to risk any REAL injury against Sociedad. Thus, get the medical team to make a fuss about nothing, and it forces Messi to sit out. I think all this is much ado about nothing, really.

Iniesta is expected to make his come-back against racing santander and sanchez will be definitely out for the next 5 weeks and his possible comeback is expected in the home match against Zaragoza.
