still another month? :(

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by that although it's not far off the initial timetable given for his recovery, 3-4 months back on 31.05.2012

Will be interesting to see how he's incorporated since he was sort of Pep's darling player while Tello has earned that distinction with Tito, it seems...Competition is great and depth is vital in a long campaign...Most of all, Cuenca brings something different from the wing

Just means Alexis needs to turn that 5 into a 9/10

You said it.
We do have a good depth up-front. And with Villa gaining his mojo back, Alexis being aware of having to improve. Everyone keeps on fighting for starting places.
Tiny problem Tito has now is right flank. Alexis looks lost there and Villa can't even try. Pedro owns it for now until Cuenca returns.

yes, Cuenca does offer something different as he actually not afraid on going 1on1 and take on defenders, and his crosses. oh dear god how sweet they are.
it's always a joy to see the front-line in good shape and have a real competition for places, still we need Villa, Pedro and Alexis to score more goals and offer all the help they have to Leo (scoring wise).

Very true, Bojan...That right side has been hurting, Cuenca will be great for that...But I still would like to see Leo play there more often...like he has late into some of the recent matches

Just asked Graham Hunter about Cuenca's possible return and he speculated November - no idea whether he really has credible/reliable info but that would put it at 5 months, a good 1-2 months longer than the initial estimate...Some recovery issues?

We'll have internationals after the Clasico and then it'll only be matter of weeks I reckon. Will be amazing competition upfront once we have all of our forwards healthy.
5 players fighting for 2 places:

:villa:
:alexis:

He doesn't track back or pressure enough to be able to play that role. Alves would be a sitting duck if Messi played infront of him. I know he played there when he was younger but his game has changed since then.

That's a valid point, he would definitely have to be more aggressive defensively tracking back if he played on the right. Still, though... if he made that adjustment, it would make so many things easier. It's obvious that Alexis is better either in the center or on the left, Pedro can play either side, and Villa doesn't play the right. Having Messi on the right, while potentially reducing his effectiveness a bit, would (I believe) greatly improve the ability to be flexible with the others on the front line, especially players like Alexis and Villa. Alexis-Villa-Messi looks good to me, and puts both Alexis and Villa (IMO) in better position to suit their play. Obviously if Pedro is in form I would love to see Pedro-Villa-Messi, but Alexis is tearing it up right now and I'd like to see him find more playing time on the left. The only problem is that Pedro is the only one who can play the right at the moment, until Cuenca comes back, unless Messi takes time over there.

Punto Radio claim Cuenca should be back 2nd half of November or beginning of December - that's around 6 months, must have been some complications or issues in his rehab
