Romano has rejected that Chelsea are in for him.

Only other formal offer made has been by Sporting Lisbon as per reports. Similar to our initial bid, which Valladolid have rejected.

Agreed terms with Sporting apparently.

Fee is 10m +5m in variables.

Sporting looking to repeat Pedro Porro business.

Good move development wise to be honest.

Yes, smart move. Also good for us as can still sign him in a year or two. Will clearly be more expensive but also more developed and proven in a better club.

Really a shame we couldn't afford to buy him now and loan him to Sporting for a season or two though.

Doesn't make business sense for Sporting though. This is all about getting quality into the 11 (well article says he will be competiting for RB spot) and then selling for 3x (45m seems reasonable in todays market if he progresses).

Maybe without the money wasted on Julian Araujo though, we could have loaned to Las Palmas.

Clearly for 10m+5m we should have been in on it, and tried to do the deal for after Sept 1st like we tried with Guler. But reading between the lines, this isn't a decision of Xavi or Deco, but because we don't have two euros to rub together FFP wise before September. With Lenglet still here, no significant sales and the palanca's being fake ass worthless paper and nobody actually paying them.

I don't think this train passes again for us. He will be off to the Premiership, while if we don't take up the Cancelo option, guys like Vanderson who we have been linked with before will end up cheaper. Or Wesley Franca who is now a bonafide starter in Brasileiro, looks fast and offensively talented but small as f*ck.

Why wouldn't they accept him on loan if they've rated him highly than other players at same position? Sporting also wants to compete for domestic trophies so not every signing they make is with a potential profit they can make with that player in a few years in mind.

Anyway, Sporting was just an example, could have just loaned him to another interested club which I'm sure there were many. Either in La Liga or in Ligue 1, Eredivisie, Primeira or even BL. So leagues where young players can usually get a lot of minutes to develop.

Why would Fresneda be interested in a loan though? Much safer to have a club commit to you - see Endrick as the latest example who's somewhere in limbo.

Fabrizio reporting that it's a 9+3 deal. Shows how broke and dumb this club is that they can't even afford that for a prospect who will most likely increase in value over the next few years and thus pay for itself (books-wise). While I have questions about his offensive output (his crossing technique is lacking imo), his 1on1 D and dribbling/technique otherwise looked quite good.

- Valladolid keep 10% of transfer rights.
- 5 year contract

Cancelo better come and be incredible.

It's sad they missed this transfer for cheap, but Barca could always buy him if he turns out to be decent. Only downside is that he'll probably cost 20-30m atleast.

Not a big loss. Get Cancelo on loan now, and buy Vanderson next summer.
Agree. Vanderson looks pretty good and he'll get a lot more attention now that he has been called to the Brazil NT and will probably get a chance to start.

Slow start at Sporting. On the bench, late sub option.

Doesn't discount that he would have been a great project as early days, but definitely supports that Xavi was correct to demand a high class instant option.

Trincao has also faded to obscurity and is now a bench option for Sporting.
