Perisic at Barça? No thanks.
If that's the kind of quality we're looking for, we could just as well have brought Tello back.

We are looking at backup up-front last time I checked. If Nolito, Vietto or others qualify, so does Perišić.

Nolito is the superior player, much cheaper and the fact that Lucho knows him very well, obviously puts him way in front of the likes of Perisic. He won't happen now, though.

Vietto? I dunno, I'm not his biggest fan, but at least he doesn't look like costing 30-40M and he's actually young as well.

As I see it, Perisic would be way, way too expensive compared to what he'd bring to the table.

Agreed there. 30 million is a bit too much for a backup. But them again this board splashed 40 on Arda.

While 40M for Arda now seems like a broken deal, to say the least, he at least had the credentials to warrant a large fee. I don't feel Perisic has that. Then again, I could be underrating him, but he really hasn't shown me much that hints at Barça quality.

Arda turan was considered among best midfielders in la liga. Perisic is far from it. He might have developed really well at inter but 30M is damn too much for him. Even a player like arda turan couldn't live up to his value at barca. You can't compare perisic to arda. I would rather us sign nolito who had a great season in LA liga and lucho knows him. But sadly he is moving to city. Gameiro for 30M is better than perisic at 30M but there also sevilla sticking to their guns. That leaves us with Vietto and Jesus.

To be fair, Nolito had 3 great seasons in Celta Vigo. Also, he was great at Benfica and saved Granada from not being relegated.

Inter would be stupid to let him go for 30m after such an Euro. EPL clubs throw the bigger amounts for much weaker players. Perisic should at least cost 40m for any interested clubs.

About Barca being interested. I don't think Barca's style suits the likes of him. His direct gameplay fits better in EPL. And despite his recent good form I don't rate him that highly. He lacks consistency and despite his good work rate and sprints, and some flashes here and there his dribbling and passing is not that good. Definitely no to Barca signing him but all the rich EPL clubs are welcome to offer anything above 40m for him.

he would cost about 19 million from the sounds..hardly huge.

If Croatia continue to go deep he will be seen on high radar
