I'd expect more bullshit from time to time about how modric would suit us better then rakitic and vice versa but not like this. Some people think that rakitic is our main problem in squad and that all the problems begin with him. Unbelievable

I am first to say that he can do better (clearly he can, CRO success shows it) but to shit on him like he is no1 problem is beyond disrespect for a player that won shitload of trophies with Barça while been a integral part of first team.

His defensive presence is immense. Busi was getting owned until Raki came in.

He only touched the ball about 6 times and the first four were the usual back passes . His first forward pass was from inside our penalty box and even that was intercepted before it got outside the box and could have gone anywhere . The commentator said that it was a ridiculously casual ball .
As for his defensive presence - he's not exactly Kante or Liverpool's Keita as Rakky is sluggish on a good day .

Ehh there were moments that Sevilla still were cutting through out Midfield when Rakitic was on.
Honestly I don't think the Midfield was the real issue this game. It was the same in Preseason, some of our Forwards movements was just poor. Coutinho was basically a 4th Forward making up for how Poor Suarez was and it helped a lot.

He needs to play as long as Busi is in the 11 . It wase evident in second half . Only way to bench him is by benching Busi as well . With Arthur , cou and Vidal in Mf . Busi is a gonnar without Rakitic

The word "immense" is tossed around about his defensive presence all the time and it ends up that he's made 1 tackle, and if you watch closely a vast majority of his defensive actions consist of cleaning up loose balls. And one needn't even bother bringing up the offensive end.
Sevilla had more shots in the second half when Rakitic was on than the first. There was no significant change in our defense because of him, if anything mostly because of how much the game slowed down and became static possession so less end to end.
